HPB South Lamar is Moving!

HPB is on the move, booklovers. We're preparing for our move to 2607 South First Street later this year and, in the meantime, we'll be opening a temporary location at 3005 South Lamar Boulevard, Suite D-11 where customers can shop and sell to us in just a few weeks. Puzzle of the Week

Join us at your HPB Anderson Mill every Tuesday to help us complete the puzzle of the week. Each Tuesday morning, our staff will set out a fresh jigsaw puzzle for the community to work on together. Solve the puzzle a little or stay and solve a lot. See you there!

Comics Workshop Mondays

Join us at your Anderson Mill HPB every Monday at 5 p.m. for a chance to share your original comics project during our weekly workshop. hosted by local cartoonist and Pathway Comics penciller Bryan Douglas. Whether your art is a raw idea or completely finished, meet with fellow cartoonists to receive feedback and constructive criticism to help inspire your work. We also welcome children and adults who would like storytelling lessons or art challenges.

The road by your HPB Anderson Mill shopping plaza is getting a makeover and in the meantime, we want to make sure our booklovers know the best ways to get to the store: From S-bound 183: take the exit for Lake Creek Pkwy/Anderson Mill Rd. Move over one lane to the right to go straight through the first light. Travel about 1 mile on the feeder and turn left into the shopping plaza immediately after the VCA Animal Hospital. From E-bound Anderson Mill Rd: turn Left into the shopping plaza after the Cook-Walden Funeral Home (directly across from Moonies Burger) and just before the divided median starts. From N-bound 183: take the exit for Anderson Mill, turn left onto Anderson Mill, turn right into the shopping plaza about 100 ‘ from the intersection. From W-bound Anderson Mill: cross under 183, turn right into the shopping plaza about 100’ from the intersection.

I love this HP books, it has a lot of selection on board games and the book selection is great as well. The clearance wall is good too. I love their comic book section. Also they have chairs here and there if you need to take a sit down. The front is helpful when you need help looking for a book. I bought monopoly which was only $10. It had all of the pieces as well. I'm not sure if you can bargain for some of the prices because there was a few books that needed a few dollars taken away at the price. (I found a book I wanted but there was no cover for it) But then again it is mostly at a discounted or half off price. (You get what you get.) Definitely recommend this place because I have been here twice. It's definitely my favorite Half price books.

It means the world to me that theres a REAL BOOKSTORE I can walk in to, talk to a REAL HUMAN and walk out with what I need even when its hard to find! It's hard to give any half price a bad review. I remember my pops taking me as a little kid, how magical it felt back then. As an adult, I takey.kids there every chance I get. We often talk about how we wish we could win the lottery and propose an expansion on select locations for an adjacent coffee shop. That's the only thing that would make this place perfect. We often go to Book People so we can work, but if Half Price had the same setup, we'd probably move in. I can't say enough about this place, every location. A gem in the rough of mass consumerism pushing new new new. Half Price is beloved.
