    A Spell for Chameleon is a book that caught my eye from my dad's bookshelves. Like most things on my dad's shelves, this book is a wacky scifi adventure. Piers Anthony has skill in MANY genres, but his writing in this genre is my favorite. Humorous and strange, A Spell for Chameleon, the first book in the Xanth series, is definitely a fun story that will keep you guessing.

    This was the book that turned me on to books. I was a long time comic book reader and was very "anti" book. I was working overnight shifts back in the days before the internet, cellphones, and 24 hour TV. I grew bored and my father handed me this novel and said give it a try. Having nothing to lose, I did and surprisingly- I enjoyed it. I found the mix of humor and fantasy enjoyable. I have since gone on to read more than half the series. Friends who have seen this in my collection make other recommendations, which have opened doors for me. It all began here though with Bink.

    As the 1st book in the beloved Xanth series, "A Spell For Chameleon" is a wonderful gateway into the humorous, fantastic and very addictive world of Xanth that Piers Anthony has created. The story is so enjoyable that you will be finished reading it long before you will be ready for it to end. It has a great blend of comedy and true epic fantasy. A real gem and a true fantasy classic.
