This book began with what felt like a massive exposition dump, though I’m unsure if this is simply because of the informal, conversational tone of the writing or if it’s just something Sparks decided to do. I enjoyed the novel, but now that I’ve finished it, I don’t remember much dialogue. It’s almost like the entire thing is the narrator, Landon, talking directly to me. Normally, I’m not a fan of that style, especially with the lack of dialogue, but this was a good book. I did not cry as I have many times while I watch the film, and I think I actually prefer the film. If Sparks’ other books have the same tone, I don’t think I’ll be reading them. However, I will say that he did a wonderful job of foreshadowing Jamie’s story. #SpringPicks
A beautiful story of a young love that changed more than one person in many ways #bannedbook

Nicholas Sparks captures the beauty and excitement of young love while exploring the idea of everlasting love even after death. I love this book and will be reading it over and over again #SummerReading
