Overview

Follow the adventures of spirited reader, Anne Shirley, as she settles into her new home, makes friends, and stirs up trouble.

Farm-owning siblings Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert want to adopt a boy to help them around the farm. In a mix-up, the orphanage sends them the active and imaginative Anne Shirley instead. They make the most of the mistake as Anne becomes the beloved heart of the family and community, as well as of generations of readers.

With illustrations by M. A. and W. J. A. Claus and a timeline of the life and times of L. M. Montgomery, this beautiful, jacketed hardcover edition of Anne of Green Gables is unabridged and makes a great addition to any home library.

I first got Anne of Green Gables from HPB because I had heard good reviews about it and I wanted to read a classic. My expectations were immediately exceeded as Montgomery has created a touching tale of drama and becoming-of-age. Anne Shirley is a unique character and by the end of the book you will be crying, laughing, and smiling with her. This book is filled with raw emotion and you will start to feel for the characters as if they are you best friends. I would recommend this book to anyone that can read! It is a truly moving and heartfelt tale. #SummerReading
