Wow. Just wow. If they taught this in high school instead of the Marxist dribble of the public school system, maybe people in our country would amount to something.
The best introduction to economics, it makes economics simple without the confusing graphs. Every economic principle also comes with a real world example.
This is the type of book that is so full of insights, and is so accessible to the average reader, it amazes me that it isn’t more well known. Sowell has a way of explaining complex issues so clearly that after reading a particular section, you feel confident that YOU could explain it to a layperson too. And he does this for such a wide spectrum of economic issues that I really don’t think this review can do the book justice. He explains how basic economic principles like supply and demand play out in the real world, and how damaging policy makers can be if they are ignorant of, or ignore these principles. I honestly think it should be required reading for every high school student.
Item was shipped in very good condition and on time. I've always had an interest in economics (and was one of my majors in college actually). Minus one star for the general conservative bias of the book however (still worth reading to see how the other side sees things).
