The epic struggle between Batman and the Joker has been told numerous times by numerous creative teams since the first appearance of the Clown-Prince of Crime in Batman #1 (1940), but Alan Moore and Brian Bolland pushed the villain over-the-edge and truly showed us the depth of his insanity. The Joker's scheme is to show the Dark Knight that the hero belongs in the parade of madness with him. Alan Moore defined the Joker for all the writers after and Bolland set the model for artist who followed.
HPB Staff ReviewI love the gritty dark story - it kept my attention until the end!
One of the best graphic novels of all time. This story will forever change the way you see the relationship between Batman and Joker. With a shocking twist and an interesting origin the killing joke is a masterpiece. #SummerReading
