Overview

Willy Wonka's famous chocolate factory is opening at last

But only five lucky children will be allowed inside. And the winners are: Augustus Gloop, an enormously fat boy whose hobby is eating; Veruca Salt, a spoiled-rotten brat whose parents are wrapped around her little finger; Violet Beauregarde, a dim-witted gum-chewer with the fastest jaws around; Mike Teavee, a toy pistol-toting gangster-in-training who is obsessed with television; and Charlie Bucket, Our Hero, a boy who is honest and kind, brave and true, and good and ready for the wildest time of his life

"Rich in humor, acutely observant, Dahl lets his imagination rip in fairyland." --The New York Times

  • This book was the best when I read it

    Jonathan R. - 5 years 8 months ago

This is a great children’s book that I loved reading when I was a child. I would totally recommend this to any person that is 9-11 years old. It’s a great book that keeps you hooked till the end! If you are a person that likes fast pace reading then here’s your book. Check out the some others of Roald Dalhi’s greatest books like: BFG, Fantastic Fox, Matilda etc. Have fun kids!

  • Great story for imaginations. Good to compare movie/show to

    Camille R. - 5 years 10 months ago

Great story to get kids imaginations going. Fun to read even if you've seen one of the movies or the show so you can see where they all are similar and different. Easy read
