So you love a good vampire book, but you're all Twilight-ed out. Don't worry. You're in good company. Dark Lover, the first book in J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series, is a welcome change on the vampire romance theme. The vampire warriors populating the book are tough, no-nonsense characters. Reading their smart, gritty, funny dialog separated the series from others of its type right from the beginning. And while each book of the series concentrates on the relationship of a different couple, that isn't the sole focus of the plot. The Black Dagger Brotherhood is fighting real evil. The big bad EVIL. You might call him the devil. They call him the Omega, and he and his minions are some of the most well developed and most disgusting bad-guys I've ever read in a 'romance' series. If you're looking for a new paranormal series that's sexy, smart, and truly interesting, you'll find yourself addicted to the Black Dagger Brotherhood in no time.
