Overview

From Douglas Adams, the legendary author of one of the most beloved science fiction novels of all time, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, comes a wildly inventive novel--in trade paperback for the first time--of ghosts, time travel, and one detective's mission to save humanity from extinction.

DIRK GENTLY'S HOLISTIC DETECTIVE AGENCY
We solve the whole crime
We find the whole person
Phone today for the whole solution to your problem
(Missing cats and messy divorces a specialty)

Douglas Adams, the "master of wacky words and even wackier tales" (Entertainment Weekly) once again boggles the mind with a completely unbelievable story of ghosts, time travel, eccentric computer geniuses, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, the end of the world, and--of course--missing cats.

  • A genuinely funny and smart book you can't put down!

    Troy C. - 3 years 10 months ago

Douglas Adams had done the world a favor, countless times over, for introducing a plethora of strange and quirky characters throughout his writing career. He's lauded as one of the great -if not the greatest- comedic sci-fi authors to have ever taken readers on a tour of the unknown and unexplored. His book "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" is no different and throws a new gaggle of characters into a twisting, otherworldly mystery for good measure. The first in a series, the book brings readers on an adventure through time, space, and then some. As smart as it is funny, this book would be found entertaining to Whovians and Sherlock followers alike. Dirk Gently is definitely no Poirot, but his knack to find himself continually at the wrong end of seemingly impossible events has sharpened his wit to rival even the greatest detectives!
