Only the greatest sacrifice can turn the tide of war.
War is brewing in the fifth book of the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius as war looms on the horizon. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves increasingly at odds with those who don't. With her heart sworn to the warrior-prince by her side and her fealty pledged to the people she is determined to save, Aelin will delve into the depths of her power to protect those she loves. But as monsters emerge from the horrors of the past, dark forces stand poised to claim her world. The only chance for salvation lies in a desperate quest that may take more from Aelin than she has to give, a quest that forces her to choose what-and who-she's willing to sacrifice for the sake of peace. Kingdoms collide in this fifth book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series.0
Previously, I reviewed the first of Maas's series, and now I'm reviewing the 5th! If you haven't started this series yet, start now! By the 5th installment in the Throne of Glass series, we've been introduced to a whole new string of characters, and in EoS, the characters take on a life outside of our heroine's perspective. While Maas's other stories have stayed PG-13, this book may take it one step further (recommended only for mature teens). The adventure, emotions, new heights and lows, sexual tension, and the cleverness of our heroine do not disappoint. Then, once you're done, and craving some more of Maas's handiwork, stop on over to her other series starting with a Court of Thrones and Roses!
HPB Staff ReviewSJM is a brilliant author! Everything she writes has a specific purpose and in this book characters resurfaced from the prequel which is a VERY exciting aspect. This book had a good level of spice. The last couple of chapters were a whirlwind. The growth in relationships throughout this story was so amazing to read. S/O to Aedion representing a strong bisexual character in this book. “Attraction is attraction”.
This book was amazing. The ending broke me in the best of ways. I would recommend this book to all teens. #SpringPicks
