On a 1985 winter night in Dublin, Frank Mackey and his girl, Rosie Daly, were meeting up to run away to London. The plan was to get married, get out of poverty, and live happily ever after. Except Rosie never showed up. Assuming Rosie ditched him to avoid his generally dysfunctional family and start her new life alone, Mackey never returned to Faithful Place. That is until Rosie’s suitcase shows up behind a fireplace in a derelict house on Faithful Place twenty-two years later. Now a detective, Mackey returns ready to do anything and everything to figure out what happened to Rosie all those years ago. Another Tana French crime novel that’s laced with love, longing, dysfunctional families, and of course a bit of mystery to keep you guessing. A must read! Dublin Murder Squad series — each book can be read as a stand alone novel, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each character in the different settings. "Faithful Place is my favorite of all of Tana French's novels. The characters are developed with a psychological intensity that is truly gripping. And the relationships between family members and neighbors are depicted with a bristling and raw honesty, that mix of love and hate that we all feel. The novel also has a tremendous sense of place. I want to walk down that street.
This book it so great. I'm reading all of Tana French's "Murder Squad" series, and this one is by far the best of the bunch.
Very enjoyable mystery read. An easy read that will go by quickly. Well written and interesting plot that will keep you guessing. Somewhat dark but anyone who is a fan of murder mysteries will enjoy this.
