    No one believed it was possible, but Steelheart, the most powerful High Epic, is dead. And David, or Steelslayer as most call him now, killed him. With Newcago restored, the Reckoners turn their focus on another High Epic. The mysterious Regalia rules Babilar, what used to be New York City and has sent many lesser Epics to derail the Reckoners. After connecting the attacks to Regalia, the Reckoners travel to Babilar and discover that Regalia has flooded the entire city forcing those left to live in squalor on the rooftops. After their arrival, they soon find out that Regalia has brought in another extremely powerful Epic, Obliteration. Fresh off his destruction of Houston, San Diego, and Albuquerque, Obliteration is there to destroy once more.
