As the rest of the crew struggle to locate him, Mal is placed on trial for his life, fighting compelling evidence that someone did indeed betray them to the Alliance all those years ago. As fans of the series know, Joss Whedon's sci-fi western Firefly only lasted one season and then a couple of years later fans received some closure with the release of the movie Serenity. Now, the series live on with original novels that take place between the end of the show and the movie. The first novel, "Big Damn Hero" reveals more of Mal and Zoe's past and their allies during the war. The writing captures the voices and mannerisms of the characters fans have come to love, and carries on the story that fans can't seem to get enough of.
