This book was absolutely beautiful. I had heard that this book was powerful, but this book was so much better than I could have expected. From the get-go, the writing was not only stunning, but it was also so incredibly raw and realistic. Nothing was ever sugarcoated, and from start to finish, Kathleen Glasgow provided a real and authentic story over the struggles of a teenage girl. Diving deep into mental health, this book beautifully deals with numerous themes (so pls pls pls look up triggers beforehand, because nothing is held back in this novel) and how they affect one's daily life. As Charlie's story progresses, you will become so incredibly attached to her character and it feels as if the decisions she makes affect you, just as much as they affect her. I highly recommend this as it gives an uncommon perspective into the everyday lives of teens who struggle with mental health, as this is definitely one of those books where you start the book in one way and finish it with a completely new view on life. #SpringPicks
This book will beautifully break you. Kathleen Glasgow added a bit of romance to it but didn't overdo it. Girl in pieces will wander back into your mind after finishing it. You can feel Charlie's raw emotions, which will have you in tears. The book perfectly describes how it feels to live with mental illness. I would give this an age rating of 14+. This may trigger many people, This book includes self-h*rm, Su*cide, Grief, loss, homelessness, drug use, toxic relationships, etc.
This book has a beautiful sadness to it. As the story developed, I found myself truly connecting with the main character. A must read! #SummerReading
I loved this book. It delt with some difficult subjects very well and has stuck with me since I read it. #SummerReading
Really good book. It brings perspective to the warped world of the abused, fostered, and “forgotten”. A book that needs to be read. Really great read, and eye opening to see through the lense of someone who feels as though they are shattered due to the hand life has dealt.
