I loved this book! It's an imaginative tale told from a crow's perspective during a pandemic. It may seem like it hits too close to home after everything we have been through, but I thought the characters were engaging and whimsical. Also, I loved the tour around the Seattle/ Eastside areas. Finally, there are a couple of uplifting thoughts to ponder and it is a quick, entertaining read.
I don't usually go for zombie apocalypse books (too much like watching the news), but Hollow Kingdom is a oddly optimistic apocalypse. The earth is attempting to come back into balance after the human race has destroyed itself through technology. Former pet crow S.T. and his canine buddy Dennis negotiate the changes with courage and humor. #SpringPicks
Hollow Kingdom is very hard to review because it is an extreme genre-bender. Initially, I found it comedy/ horror, but as I grew to empathize with the main character, I became more aware of the mystery and the science fiction, and ultimately, the philosophy. It was an intense and fascinating book, and ultimately, I found it all-too-believable. I love watching crows, and the idea of a crow as a salvation figure is very appealing to me. #SpringPicks
Lots of fun to read. Good story, makes you think. It was a interesting and insightful.
One of the most entertaining books I've read in a long time! I had a hard time putting it down, and i truly enjoyed this fresh take on an old idea.
