  • Not just for childcare!

A therapist I know once told me that this should be required reading for everyone: parents, educators, managers, partners...anyone who relates to anyone. And really, I think he's right! -How To Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk- is a fantastic primer on handling one's own relational frustrations, and on empathically addressing others'. Though its examples are primarily childcare based, with a focus on respectful, behavior-focused dialogue, this book affects greater communicative skills. It's an easy, informative, helpful read. And c'mon, don't we all know (and act like) adult toddlers on occasion?
