  • A story of loss, family, friendship, and love

    If I Stay, by Gayle Forman, tells the story of a young girl Mia whose life quite literally hangs in the balance after a tragic car accident. First and foremost, the story is about coping with loss. Forman handles the subject expertly and delicately. Unlike the movie, for those who have seen it, If I Stay is not a romance novel but a book about all kinds of love. The relationships I connected to the most in the book were those of family and her best friend. The only thing that could have made this book better was if a free box of tissues was packaged with it.
