What should be a cozy and fun-filled weekend deep in the English countryside takes a sinister turn in Ruth Ware s suspenseful, compulsive, and darkly twisted psychological thriller.
"Sometimes the only thing to fear is yourself."
When reclusive writer Leonora is invited to the English countryside for a weekend away, she reluctantly agrees to make the trip. But as the first night falls, revelations unfold among friends old and new, an unnerving memory shatters Leonora s reserve, and a haunting realization creeps in: the party is not alone in the woods."

If you're a fan of books like Gone Girl, then you will love In A Dark, Dark Wood. I loved this book. It was suspenseful and scary and the characters were deep and crazy- I honestly couldn't put the book down. I'll recommend it to anyone looking for a great mystery.

  • Great for #SummerReading- many intriguing twists and turns that will keep you turning the page!

Nora finds herself via email invited to an event she doesn't want to attend. It's been 10 years and she still feels as raw inside as she did when it happened. Why after all this time is she being brought back into this circle. Why would she be contacted to attend a Hen (bachelorette party) for someone she doesn't even speak to anymore. After being talked into going, she attends and finds herself regretting it almost immediately. The Hen is located at the home of Flo whom she doesn't know, its a very spooky house out in the woods with no cell phone reception. The eeriness of the situation only deepens when they begin to see footprints in the snow and doors are left unlocked. Nora suddenly finds herself waking up in the hospital, wondering how she got there. What happened? Who did she overhear was murdered? What does this have to do with her situation 10 years ago? This story has many intriguing twists and turns that will keep you turning the page.

This was a really quick, easy, can't put down read. I finished in about a week. If you're into thrillers this is a really good weekend read! You are immediately drawn in and as in all thrillers the twist at the end is really great! #summerreading

  • Suspenseful!!

    Tracy J. - 5 years 10 months ago

This book was one of the most suspenseful books I have ever read. I normally can figure out who did it way before the end of a mystery book. This is a fast read and I could hardly put it down! #SummerReading
