Overview

The journey to 100 friends begins with a single conversation.

Socially anxious high school student Shoko Komi's greatest dream is to make some friends, but everyone at school mistakes her crippling social anxiety for cool reserve With the whole student body keeping their distance and Komi unable to utter a single word, friendship might be forever beyond her reach.

Timid Tadano is a total wallflower, and that's just the way he likes it. But all that changes when he finds himself alone in a classroom on the first day of high school with the legendary Komi. He quickly realizes she isn't aloof--she's just super awkward. Now he's made it his mission to help her on her quest to make 100 friends

  • And I thought I was awkward

This is one of the most hilarious manga that I have ever read, and I have read a metric ton of them. Komi is a beauty whose silence makes her all the more mysterious. Until Tadano, a classmate realizes it's because she's literally too nervous to talk to anyone (including him). So, he offers to help. The hijinks these two get into- I have never snorted out loud while reading a book and this one had me actually laughing. The art is so expressive and so good at capturing characters emotions that the characters seem to leap off the page. I can't recommend this book enough to people who just want a fun read, whether you're into manga/comics or not. I think this is one that people everywhere could laugh along with.
