    By now you've likely heard the story of "Lone Survivor". The bestselling book by Marcus Luttrell was adapted into a major motion picture fairly recently. But the book has much more to offer than any movie could. Yes, the movie gives you enough detail to know that a team of four Navy SEALs took part in Operation Redwing in the Afghan mountains and only one walked out alive. And yes, the movie shows viewers just how helpless the situation seemed. The book takes you on a journey with Marcus and his teammates, as he calls his fellow SEALs. The journey only ends during Operation Redwing. It had begun long before when Marcus began training to eventually become a SEAL as a teen. It takes you through the grueling training all SEALs must endure. But it also takes you into the mindsets of Marcus and those who lost their lives. The story and legacy of Operation Redwing is not one of defeat and loss. It's rather a story of family and faith, a story of sacrifice and remembrance, and a story of survival. The men lost during Operation Redwing will never really be forgotten because Marcus Luttrell has made it his mission to make sure it doesn't happen. His reasoning may seem obvious, but after reading this book you'll understand exactly why that is.
