    This book was eye-opening, poignant, a truly great book. I have read it multiple times, at least once a year, and still enjoy it. Family generational stories are always intriguing, and this novel is a perfect example. It does contain controversial topics, such as homosexuality and incest, but these are woven into the story not as shock value, but parts of the human experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for anything new, yet familiar.
