  • Early 20th century masterpiece

    When this book was released, it caused quite the uproar. The portrait of the protagonist and his mindset is eloquently depicted. The crucial event that drives the narrative takes place about a quarter of the way into the story and is one of the most starkly written scenes I've ever encountered in a novel. Highly recommended.
