The Great Gatsby is a classic story of love, popularity, mystery, heartbreak, and so much more. It is a timeless tale, told from the point of view of Nick Carraway, a Yale graduate and World War I veteran who moves to New York and acquires a job as a bond salesman. He centers his narration of the story around his mysterious neighbor named Jay Gatsby, and the extravagant parties he throws on the weekends. The story continues with Daisy and Tom Buchanan, Daisy being Nick's cousin, who live across town in a rich and high class area. Nick finds out that in the past Daisy and Gatsby had a relationship that was cut short due to the war, and there was still hidden sparks between them. This story won my heart over as I read it in high school, and it is a title that everyone should take a chance with at some point. It has many twists and turns, that makes you feel as if you are right there along with them. I give it two thumbs up and highly recommend it.
