The Wheel of Time (R) is a PBS Great American Read Selection Now in development for TV
Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time(R) by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.
The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.
When The Two Rivers is attacked by Trollocs--a savage tribe of half-men, half-beasts-- five villagers flee that night into a world they barely imagined, with new dangers waiting in the shadows and in the light.
TV series update: "Sony will produce along with Red Eagle Entertainment and Radar Pictures. Rafe Judkins is attached to write and executive produce. Amazing Epic Fantasy, in my opinion one of the best ever!
A homage to Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, this fantasy adventure is a must read. It includes magic, prophesy, and grey morality. #SummerReading
Great story of adventure and a growing cast of characters who develop throughout the series. #SummerReading
If you are like me, one of the host of people left longing for the next "big thing" after Game of Thrones (particularly the books), then the Wheel of Time series is IT! Eye of the World is the first of the series and the gateway into a fabulous realm of high fantasy created by Robert Jordan. The world he creates, and the heroes and villains within it, will draw you in and satisfy any craving for characters worthy of an emotional commitment. Jordan's writing style ranges from average to very good, but like most books you find you cannot put down, it is the story that keep's you engaged. You will meet many different characters along the story, protagonists and antagonists alike, that along with the reader, find themselves pulled along by the "Wheel of Time". Give The Eye of the World a chance and you will be introduced to a truly magical world inhabited by characters you will come to love and follow through their amazing journey. This is the next IT!
Eye of the World is the introduction into sprawling fantasy epic crafted by Robert Jordan. It introduces you to the primary cast of heroes and villains and the mystery and adventure that encompasses them all. The pacing starts off slow as there is a lot of groundwork to lay, but the payoff is with it and Jordan is a terrific worldbuilder. Action, intrigue, romance and heartbreak. Everything you will want from a fantasy book, and the first of an opus that spans 14! books and 2 authors. The journey is worth the investment however. Also being made into a TV series by Amazon.
