This is a fantastic read. Read it in High School and so glad I did. This really draws you in with the characters and the hardships they have to face just to make it in those times.
I once had to read this book years ago in High School. I recently picked it back up because I needed something to read on my lunch break. I am very glad I did so. Something about it made it an instant classic in my mind. You fall in love with the characters!! You go on an adventure with Lenny and George. An up and down, short and sweet, emotional Adventure. To sum it up in one sentence. This book is still a wonderful read.
HPB Staff ReviewI read this book in high school, enjoyed the writing style, but strong disliked the ending. During my teaching internship later, I was required to teach with this book in an inner city high school. I thought my students would hate it, but they loved it. In our class discussions and in their essays, I discovered more reasons to enjoy this book, and I made peace with the hard ending. I think it's a really important book to read and consider, and is probably best read in a book club environment for discussions. #bannedbook
This was a good book, and movie. Kinda sad, as the times everyone was poor, and trying to survive. One man, took on caring for a special needs man. This special needs man, did not know his own strength. Something horrible happens.
One of the few books I was forced to read in High School that I was thankful for. A fantastic little book that'll stay with you for years #BannedBooks
