First edition of fantasy book by Laura Bancroft, a.k.a. L. Frank Baum. This book is widley regarded as one Baum's best fantasy books, second only to Oz. This book includes all 8 color plate illustrations by Maginel Wright Enright (sister of Frank Lloyd Wright and mother of Elizabeth Enright). Not all illustrations are attached. Several of the black and white illustrations have been lovingly colored in by the orignal child owner of this book. Their name and address are also written in the front cover. The text block has completly seperated from the case, but all pages are present.
