The New York Times bestselling series that inspired the international hit video game: The Witcher.
Geralt is a witcher, a man whose magic powers, enhanced by long training and a mysterious elixir, have made him a brilliant fighter and a merciless assassin. Yet he is no ordinary murderer: his targets are the multifarious monsters and vile fiends that ravage the land and attack the innocent.

Started out watching the series and decided to read more. Love the Witcher and the creatures he fights. Looking forward to reading more of the series.

  • Once again the book is better than the... video game adaptation (and the tv show, I guess)

Sapkowski's second short story collection is contemporary dark fantasy at its finest. Through the adventures of the witcher Geralt he analyzes the often blurred lines between good and evil, justice and injustice, love and foolishness. This distinct Slavic angst meshes perfectly with Sapkowski's excellent humorous wit, keeping the heavy tales perpetually entertaining and engaging. It may seem that I am embellishing, but these short stories are simply phenomenal. A must read for any self-respecting fantasy fan.
