  • or, realizing that "you are not you; you are everything. And everything is you."

I'm not sure what took me so long to read this book, but I absolutely loved it. I started it as a lunch break read, and soon I had to take it home with me because I couldn't put it down. It is a story of a family told from the point of view of their dog, Enzo. As readers, we watch the family evolve through life, and we get to come to the same realizations that Enzo comes to. He is such a relatable character, despite the fact that he is a dog. This book makes you look at every living creature differently. It made me want to connect with others, to be balanced and careful, but also know that we must give ourselves over to life and living in order to truly exist.

  • Mesmerizing and Unforgettable

If you have yet to read this wonderful novel, do yourself a favor and do so. It's original and captivating, and I simply adored Enzo (the narrator - who also happens to be a dog). It tells the story of a particular family, with twists and turns that keep the pages turning. It's a perfect read for a rainy afternoon or while laying in bed, the kind of novel that you'll remember long after you've finished. #BannedBook

  • Terrific: The Art of Racing in the Rain

#SummerReading This is a novel for the ages! Narrated by the family pet, Enzo, author Stein deals with family, happiness and tragedy, and sacrifice. Stein gives to Enzo traits we all wish we could see in every human being. Everyone should read this book over and over. Beware: have your box of tissues with you throughout every single page.

  • Beautiful, Sad, Worth the Read

    Danielle R. - 5 years 10 months ago

Beautiful and sad book, written with great feeling. It's amazing how natural it feels that Enzo is the narrator, and how strong his emotions are. Grab your tissues for this one, but well worth the tears. #SummerReading
