Idlewild Hall is a place for girls who aren't wanted. For girls with something wrong with them. Even if that something wrong is nothing they could control or had any part in deciding. In 1950 a girl goes missing, even though her dorm mates insist she was murdered. Fast forward to 2014, Idlewild Hall has been closed for 35 years, but is about to be restored and reopened. Fiona Sheridan is a freelance journalist with a bleak connection to the property; her sister was found murdered on its property 20 years before. When a discovery of a body on the property halts the restoration, Fiona sets out to uncover the secrets long buried about her town, the school and the missing girl from 1950. Both storylines are compelling - especially after they merge. I could not put this book down and was very satisfied with the ending.
HPB Staff ReviewThis is not high literature, but it's a fun and compelling read.
#SummerReading The plot was so intriguing. I loved how the author told both stories separately but showed how much they intertwined. I could not put it down, I think I ended up til after 3am finishing the last few chapters because there was no way I wasn't finding out all of the secrets. The characters were so well written and believable.
I really liked the premise of this book and the different characters. The characters really made this book and the diversity between them really added to the plot! The mystery aspect draws the reader in from the first chapter and keeps them wanting to read more! I really enjoyed reading this! #SummerReading
