  • My Go-to Reluctant Reader Pick

    Bonnie D. - 2 years 3 months ago

This book is my go-to reluctant reader pick! A tale of an underground city entirely unaware of the world above, quickly running out of resources. Two clever youngsters discover a tattered map and must find the way out. Classic. It was a quick read, like many young adult novels, and the story was engaging.

  • YA Science Fiction for All

    Elissa S. - 4 years 3 months ago

Following the rush of young Lina and Doon to save the residents of the underground city of Ember, this book is a fairly quick read that will keep you engaged the entire time. Despite being a YA novel, The City of Ember delves into the topics of government corruption, generational divide, and the importance of community- all without feeling like the reader is being talked down to.
