  • Poems by one of the great writers of the Harlem Renaissance.

    This collection of poems was among my favorites as a youth, having inspired some of my own works, and serving as an interesting lens through which to view life in an urban environment and in America as a whole. Langston Hughes was an African-American who grew to prominence during the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s. Some 860 of his poems grace the pages of this collection by Vintage Classics. A must read for any aspiring poet or anyone who wishes to have a better understanding of the rich cultural heritage of the U.S.
