Overview

From Sandie Jones, the author of the Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine Book Club Pick and New York Times bestseller The Other Woman, comes an addictively readable new domestic suspense about a wife, her husband, and the woman who is supposedly her best friend.

THE WIFE: For Alice, life has never been better. With her second husband, she has a successful business, two children, and a beautiful house.

HER HUSBAND: Alice knows that life could have been different if her first husband had lived, but Nathan's arrival into her life gave her back the happiness she craved.

HER BEST FRIEND: Through the ups and downs of life, from celebratory nights out to comforting each other through loss, Alice knows that with her best friend Beth by her side, they can survive anything together. So when Nathan starts acting strangely, Alice turns to Beth for help. But soon, Alice begins to wonder whether her trust has been misplaced . . .

The first mistake could be her last.

i'm actually reading it right now. Felt it was a little slow to get into it at first but I'm on page 130 and it's starting to get interesting.

The First Mistake is a suspenseful book that will keep you guessing until the end. Alice is a working Mom to two girls. She has a thriving business and she is stressed trying to juggle her career and motherhood. As things progress into her story, we are left with the mystery behind the death of her first husband and is devastated over his loss. A short time later she meets her current husband, Nathan, and falls in love. She also has a best friend named Beth whom she instantly connected with when she moved her daughter Millie to the same school as Alice's daughter, Olivia. Nathan starts doing suspicious disappearing acts and Alice starts to wonder just how solid her marriage actually is. She turns to Beth for support, but just might find out more than she bargained for. Great suspenseful book. Highly recommend! #SummerReading

  • Too Good to be True...?

    Carrie M. - 5 years 10 months ago

With this book Sandie Jones became one of my favorite authors. Alice, the main character has had some trauma occur in her life. As she reflects on her past you absolutely feel for her, but you realize how lucky she is to have found happiness. Until the lines of trust start diminishing. She soon questions if she can even trust her best friend Beth. Readers will get wrapped up in the drama and hang on every twist and turn! Set time aside for this one because once you start you will not be able to put it down.
