This was a waste of time reading. Would not recommend it.
This was just OK. I didn't know it was about family drama going in - and it sure was. I didn't enjoy the story much - I mean, if you don't get along with your estranged family, who would go on a trip with them? I sure wouldn't. Easy read - so if you do enjoy family stuff and a little about cruise ports on the Mediterranean, give it a read. Otherwise, I'd skip it. #BannedBook
Fun book- perfect for #SummerReading A great cast of characters in a family that each have their own issue. Don't we all? The mother, Charlotte is convinced she has won a contest as a Jetsetter and is excited to bring her family all together on a trip for a cruise get-a-away. Of course when families get together, things don't always go as planned. Memories come back, old grievances surface and the secrets that one keeps come to light. Sometimes families stay distant for a reason, but there is always a reason why we are the person we are today. Even matriarch Charlotte, as you find in the story has an scandalous tale of a past life!
The Jetsetters revolves around the dysfunctional dynamics of a family on a cruise. With nowhere to escape from one other, the way they present themselves to the world and each other clashes with who they really are. It doesn't take long for all the secrets and ugly truths they've kept from each other and sometimes from themselves to come stumbling out into the light. I don't think the characters were written to be likeable, but more vulnerable and flawed. Each one seeking redemption and acceptance in their own broken way. Because in the end, that's really what we all want.
