    Outstanding guide on how to research and illustrate a nature journal Much emphasis on scientific observation and data. I prefer to focus on my own observations of unusual or unique behavior of creatures, folk lore, native uses of plants, animals, geology, and geography. The illustrations and lessons are of high quality and a bit intimidating to a novice artist. Just remember that this is your journal and is for your own education and enjoyment. As you write and as you draw, you will improve. Your journal forces you to become a better observer.

    I love it! It's a great teaching book with so many *gems*! Clear demonstrations, great bits of prose interspersed throughout the pages. It is a great reference tool, one that I keep handy while I paint & use frequently. Perfect for artists at any stage of the paint / sketching journey!
