    Texas' very own Fixer Upper stars, Joanna and Chip Gaines have taken the DIY world by storm. They take older, often run-down homes in the Waco, Texas area and make them into "new" homes for their clients. The big catch is that once the plans are approved by the home owners, Chip and Joanna keep them in the "dark" until the big reveal. The show is now in its fourth season and continues to grow in popularity. Joanna (aka Jo or JoJo) does the designs and decorating. Her style is simple and often shabby chic. Chip is the muscle and humor on the team. He does the demo and construction. Viewers of the show wanted to know more about the down to earth couple and their journey to our family room TV. The book Magnolia Story is Chip and Joanna Gaines' story. Both Chip and Joanna attended Baylor University but never met until Chip noticed her at her family's tire store. Their first date was almost their last, and it definitely wasn't love at first sight. The best story in the book is how they got the show Fixer Upper on HGTV. Just a hint---it involves a house boat bought online. You'll follow Chip and Joanna through the last 15 years. It's a great read and even more fun to listen to on audio book and Chip and Joanna regale us with their version of the same happenings!
