I am charmed by the unique tone of this book, and the fun story it has to tell - middle-grade, YA imagination at its finest. It stars genius kids, but it avoids the familiar trappings of making their intellectualism a series of magic tricks and shows the reader their processes and logic. This makes the ride a whole lot more fun and even interactive. #SpringPicks
I absolutely loved "The Mysterious Benedict Society"! The book is well-written with an immensely captivating storyline. Would definitely recommend it for all ages.
This is an amazing book that I think everyone should read! From the start to the end, it captured my attention and held it, as I experienced taking the test, passing, and wondering about all the mysterious stuff along the way. I think that kids (and adults) of all ages will enjoy this epic read. #SpringPicks
This book is the first in a series, and is one of my favorite books. Although the book is written as a piece of fiction, it does have some mystery/puzzle like elements. Without being obvious, like so many books these days, this series upholds good values and teaches the importance of friendship, trust, and integrity. It is written as a children's book and is suitable for children about 12 and up, but it is still enjoyable to older readers, and I know a number of other adults who have enjoyed this book as well. This book has a solid storyline, well developed characters, and maintains your attention.
A unique and charming story that will engage and delight young readers. The characters are incredibly personable and the author speaks in a manner that feels very suitable for children, but without being patronizing or too elementary. The story is intriguing and very different from anything I’ve ever read, and I highly recommend it as an engrossing read for young and old readers alike. I still come back to it as an adult and find the story stays exciting, and the characters, endearing. #SummerReading
