I never thought I was into whodunnits, but this is the second one I’ve read this year and now I’m thinking I need to find some more of them. This one had me reading the pages as fast as possible and I think I created scenarios in my head for each character and it could have been any one of them that did it. I do feel like the book left some things unsaid, but I also know I got attached to these characters and it has to end sometime – ha! I love the way Hilderbrand explains Nantucket (especially the food) and it’s just a great escape that I can really picture, which is something I am always looking for in a book. I would definitely recommend this book if you’re a fan of whodunnits and/or a Hilderbrand fan… or even if you’re just looking for an escape! #SpringPicks
I loved this book from start to (almost) finish. The writing, the character development, the twists, everything was done so well. And then the ending left me just a little disappointed. It doesn't take away what came before and I would still recommend this great beach read/murder mystery. I just expected something else to happen on the last page.
This is my first book from this author.. I really liked the characters and the plot. With a lot mysteries I have figured it out half way through.. not with this one. The characters were well thought out .. the heroine was likeable .. I stayed up all night reading it.. Definitely great for a #summerread ..
This review is hard for me to write because I really did enjoy about 90% of this book....the ending was brutal to read and got me angrier and angrier each page. I won’t spoil it obviously but it definitely had a very frustrating ending. Like I said, I really did like most of the book but the last 30-40 pages did me in.
