    VICIOUS is the story of two college students aiming to prove humans with supernatural abilities exist, and in doing so, gain Extraordinary powers themselves. Following a series of unfortunate events, the pair transition from close roommates to lifelong, bitter archnemeses. Schwab's haunting portrayal of Eli and Victor's vile, obsessive relationship leaves one gutted with every turn of a page - and, eventually, the reader comes to realise, this isn't a conflict between Good and Bad, but one between Bad and Worse.

  • What Kind Of Monster Are You?

    With incredibly distinguished, distinctive, and disturbing characters, V.E. Schwab creates a story that will for sure stay with readers after they've put it down. The author has such amazing prose; her words flow so well together and really keeps the reader intrigued to see what happens next. If you enjoy current day science-fiction mixed with suspense, mystery, and even enjoy a classic tale of revenge, this book is a perfect addition to any of those genres! It's a brilliant, modern day comic-book style superhero/super villain adventure that explores the different sides of morality that feels so original with new, and imaginative characters that never fit just one archetype; the reader will feel conflicted on who exactly to cheer for. Not everything is black and white, and everyone has good and evil inside of them, and this title truly gives us an epic tale to prove just how true that is; this reviewer says to give it a try!

    Vicious is a genre-bending supernatural thriller set in a world a half-step from our own where the boundary between the real and the surreal has been quietly broken both by accident and by design. A sinister creeping feeling shadows the reader as the story develops from a rivalry between two young college geniuses into a power struggle of dark obsession, unexplainable phenomena, near-death experiences, and terrible revenge. You will find yourself reading it late into the night without stopping.

    This was the first V.E Schwab book I had ever read and I was blown away. The concept of near death experiences giving you super powers is so interesting. I'm personally a big fan of the villains and morally gray characters, so I loved how this book is told in the perspective of a pretty shady individual. I loved all of the characters and loved all of their backstory's. I love Schwab's writing style. Her world building and the way she writes characters is truly extraordinary. #SpringPicks
