Overview

The first book in the acclaimed, New York Times best-selling trilogy, Wool is the story of a community living in an underground silo completely unaware of the fate of the outside world. When the silo's sheriff asks to leave the silo, a series of events unravels the very fabric of their fragile lives. In a world where all commodities are precious and running out, truth and hope may be the most rare...and the most needed.

  • Science-fiction writing at its finest!

Hugh Howey's Wool creates a fantastic world of suspense and mystery, filled with twists and revelations that a reader can't help but be pulled into, helplessly yearning to turn the page to find out the secrets that underline this dystopian reality. A delightful treat for science-fiction fans, and any fan of good fiction writing in general.

This book does the post apocalyptic genre exactly right. It's an amazingly fun read, with great dynamic characters. #springpicks

  • Wool by Hugh Howey

I love post-apocalyptic stories. I feel like they are preparing me for the future. This is a unique take on the apocalypse. Taking place in an underground silo after the world is destroyed, following the journey of Juliette from Mechanical, to a cleaning, to the outside. It's exciting, heartbreaking, & hopeful. I can't wait to read the next book in the trilogy.

  • Exilharating, intense, addictive.

Hugh Howey's Wool is a chillingly believable Science Fiction/Horror story. Told with immense depth and detail I was addicted from page one. This is definitely a must read for a Post-Apocalyptic enthusiast. My only problem with starting this series is that Hugh Howey rarely crosses the buy counter and now I want all of his books.

  • Great world building

    Allison E. - 5 years 9 months ago

A fantastic view into a world you could not imagine. The world building was fantastic, I feel like I have visited the Silo myself. Great plot twists that leave you wanting more and knowing what will happen. A bit long at points, but it is worth it in the end.
