Introduction and Notes by John S. Whitley, University of Sussex.
Wuthering Heights is a wild, passionate story of the intense and almost demonic love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, a foundling adopted by Catherine's father. After Mr Earnshaw's death, Heathcliff is bullied and humiliated by Catherine's brother Hindley and wrongly believing that his love for Catherine is not reciprocated, leaves Wuthering Heights, only to return years later as a wealthy and polished man. He proceeds to exact a terrible revenge for his former miseries.
The action of the story is chaotic and unremittingly violent, but the accomplished handling of a complex structure, the evocative descriptions of the lonely moorland setting and the poetic grandeur of vision combine to make this unique novel a masterpiece of English literature.

I haven't been able to find another book as beautifully written as this. Wonderfully told and woven together. #BannedBook
Very good book and I liked it a lot. It took me a long time to get through because of the language and I was getting the characters mixed up at first. It was really helpful to have a dictionary in the back of the book on the words that we don’t use in our language anymore. It is a classic book that I think everyone should read at least once. #SummerReading
Wuthering Heights is a dark and depressing descent into the depths of human selfishness and depravity. The characters are trapped in agony of their own making and instead of facing the consequences they inflict their wretchedness upon their loved ones. Many people revere this as one of the best novels in history, but the madness and infidelity displayed consistently through the book alienates the reader from the characters. Admittedly the themes are rather nuanced and artistic, but I cannot enjoy a book with protagonists that I hate. #SummerReading
This was one of my favorite books I read in high school. Every time I see a bare tree in the fog, I think of this book. #SummerReading
